We were all pleased to find that the course was open for play despite the heavy rain on the previous day. Winter rules were in place and we had an early reminder that full winter conditions were only just around the corner. Having said that the course was in reasonable condition and the staff had done well to make it playable.
No buggies were allowed, so the geriatric amongst us had to walk and only played a limited number of holes.
After the game we all sat down to a good meal and reminisce over the day’s play. Both the Captain and Vice made speeches with Derek’s customary joke improving as the year draws to a close.
The captain’s team had a resounding win. 6 ½ v 1½.
