Captains Day at Ormonde Fields Golf Club

The Captain’s day was played on a warm day in June and the course was in a good condition considering the recent weather.
The Captain received many encouraging remarks on the condition and set up of the course from the field of 72 members. The course proved to be challenging for many that had not played here but still some very good scores were recorded. Graham Finney and Richard Burley finished winners on the day carding a very good score of 45 points. Alan Cunningham and Paul Robinson came 2nd beating Tony Poynton and Roger Hanks on a count back on 43 points.
It seemed then that members or ex members dominated the the next few prize positions. 6 two’s were recorded and nearest the pin was won by Ron Adams.
A well stocked half way house was run by Kellie and her staff and the day was finished with a meal in the restaurant which was served progressively due to covid rules with members leaving after so no formal presentations were held.
