Millennium Salver at Matlock Golf Club

17 August 2018

For our final competition of the year we went to Matlock on 17th August. It was another great day for weather with a teasing breeze to make us all take a little more care.
The course was in good condition with fast true greens and we were made most welcome in the clubhouse with great food and hospitality.
Spen Stanway was in his usual amusing form and it was good to have him as our starter. The only disappointing matter was the low entry number 44. Does anybody have any ideas as to how this may be improved for next year?
Steve Bradley, Captain of Matlock welcomed us all and helped our Captain Graham present the prizes. First, President Mike Whalley, B & H P, with a great round of 40 points, followed by several 37 points, some of whom were out of the prizes. Second, Tony Gee, B & H P, third Peter Taylor, Tapton and fourth Roger Hardy, Matlock.
Andrew Dale again won the nearest the pin on the 4th gaining a second hand painted view of the green painted by Graham’s wife. 2’s were won by Paul Moore, Mike Whalley, Tony Gee and Adrian Shaw.
