Our next match took us to Sicklehome Golf Club at Bamford in North Derbyshire even though it was an away match against Sheffield.
This was the first time that a number of our players had been there and what a pleasant surprise they had. The course is hilly, to say the least, but what beautiful scenery. It was a shame that it was a dull day which started off fairly mild but as the day progressed it was cool and a little rain started.
There were some close games. Bob Gibbs playing a singles started us off with a win (1), which was followed by several losses. Fortunately the tail wagged hard, winning the last 2 matches with the overall match result ending 5-5. Craig Cunliffe and Richard Wheeldon winning 4 & 3
As always at Sicklehome we had a great dinner with a ham joint per table, carefully calved by a member.
Speeches were made by Club captain Mike McVeigh, who welcomed us all, Peter Smallman, Sheffield captain with a response from Our captain Graham Naylor.
