Derbyshire entertained the Society of Shropshire and Hertfordshire on a very wet day at Ashbourne Golf Club.
The visitors were not however in the mood to surrender to Derbyshire and showed this with an outstanding win by beating Derbyshire in 5 games. Derbyshire winning just 1 game and the other 2 being halved. The only winning pair was the President Mike Walley and Ashbournes Tony Broadhurst.
Once again the course was in a good condition considering the amount of rainfall, and it was enhanced by the magnificent views.
The day was finished with a few words from the Shropshire & Hereford Captain Amrit Singh and Bob Roberts the Derbyshire Captain, who reported that he and the Ashbourne Captain Ian McDarmaid had been Tonyied by par man Tony Clements of Worfield Golf Club and Amrit the Captain.
