Worcestershire Captains at Kings Norton Golf Club
12 September 2019
We all arrived at Kings Norton, just outside the M42, Birmingham on a splendid sunny day – ideal for golf.
What a great venue, an 100 year old manor house which had belonged to the Cadbury family. This had been transformed with various function rooms and bars added. The course was split in 3 nines, our match being on the red and yellow nines. This was very well manicured parkland with the occasional water hazard. Fast greens which left several of us guessing but great to play on.
We were well looked after by our hosts with a light lunch and a good meal after the game, our thanks are due to catering staff.
Speeches followed from the 2 Captains with a noticeable improvement in the quality of jokes – well done.
The only let down in the day was that we failed to win losing 3½ v 4½.
After all this we returned home having had a great outing.
Winners: Roberts & Payne and Eyre & Waring
Half: Capt & Shepperson, Cooper & Haynes and Broardhurst & McGrath
Also ran: Pres & Dale, Boags & Adams andMarr & Gee
