The Captain of Mickleover Ted Harrison welcomed everyone to Mickleover golf club and hoped that we had enjoyed the course and the meal.
The Captain of the society Graham Naylor welcomed the captain and president of Worcestershire and also thanked the Derbyshire team for their support today and in particular made reference to the president Mike Whalley for his support throughout the year.
He also stated that this was our last home event of the season and praised the organisation of SDGC officials namely Peter Arnold and Martin Eyre for their tyreless efforts throughout the season. He also thanked Peter McGrath for his assistance in running todays match. He then asked the Derbyshire team to stand and toast our visitors from Worcestershire.
The Captain of Worcestershire Kevin Woodham asked that his thanks to the greenstaff and catering staff for presenting the course in such great condition and for the excellent meal provided to us. He announced the result as a 6-2 win to Derbyshire and presented the trophy to Graham Naylor.
He wished us well in our final event at Saunton Sands in a couple of weeks time and hoped that we would come 2nd to Worcestershire.
Finally he asked his team to stand and proposed a toast to the Derbyshire Captains Society and wished everyone a safe journey home.
